Iphone 3g Activation: How do I activate my New Iphone 3G?
The in-store activation process should take just a few minutes, and you will be able to leave our company-owned AT&T store or Kiosk with your Iphone 3g up and running. You can purchase your new iPhone 3G from an AT&T store, an Apple Retail Store, a Best Buy store, or a Walmart store. You can also Purchase Iphone 3G online through the convenience of our AT&T Online store, where you can set up your account and choose your voice and data plan. Once The Iphone 3G arrives, all you’ll need to do is connect the phone to your PC or Mac to complete iPhone activation.
The new Iphone 3gs is $199 (16GB) and $299 (32GB) for new and qualifying customers. iPhone 3G is $99 (8GB) for new and qualifying customers and $149 (16GB) while supplies last. A 2-year service agreement is required. These prices are available to the following customers:
* Customers activating a new line with AT&T
* Current AT&T customers who are eligible at the time of purchase for an upgrade discount
Qualifying customers are those that qualify for an upgrade. Upgrade eligibility varies with each customer, but in general you will become eligible the longer the tenure in your service agreement. Customers can upgrade their existing phone/device to iPhone 3G via the convenience of our online store, where they can set up their account and choose their voice and data plan. When the phone arrives, all the recipient has to do is connect the new iPhone 3G to their PC or Mac to complete the activation.
You can set up your iPhone 3G account online before heading to the nearest AT&T store or Kiosk location to activate and complete the purchase*, reducing in-store wait times. New customers can perform a pre-qualifying credit check and determine eligibility to port an existing phone number to AT&T in advance by visiting www.att.com/iphone. Existing AT&T customers can also determine eligibility to add a new line for iPhone.
*iPhone 3G is sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Apple launched a web tool for iPhone 3G that allows you to start the iPhone 3G activation process from your own computer. You will not be able to complete the activation online; you must visit an Apple store to complete the activation and purchase your new iPhone 3G. The web tool will allow you to:
* Select a rate plan, data plan and text messaging package
* Perform a credit check
* Select the closest Apple retail store and make an appointment to complete your activation
