10 Ways to Make the Battery on your Iphone 3g Last Longer
1. Lower the brightness level
The brighter the screen on your Iphone 3g is, the more power it is using. To turn it down go to Settings->brightness and adjust the brightness to the minimum required level.
2. Turn off the Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi uses a lot of power even when there’s no Wi-Fi network to connect to, so turn it off until you need to use it. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and set Wi-Fi to Off
3. Disable the Bluetooth
Bluetooth is another feature that will drain ther battery on your iPhone 3G and should only be turned on when you need to use it. Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and set Bluetooth to Off
4. Turn off 3G
Using the 3G network on your iPhone 3G delivers information faster but it also uses up the battery at a faster rate, so if you’re in an area where 3G is not supported or you’re not using the internet turn the 3G off. Go to Settings > General > Network and set Enable 3G to Off
5. Enable the Auto-lock
To prevent the accidental running of programs which drain the battery. Settings > General > Auto-Lock
6. Run the battery down completely once a month
To get the best performance out of your battery you should go through at least 1 charge cycle a month, which means charging the battery to full power and then running it down completely
7. Turn on Airplane Mode when there’s no network available
The Iphone 3G will always try to find a network to connect to, so when you’re in an area with no or low coverage your iPhone will use more power trying to connect. Go to Settings > Airplane Mode On
8. Turn Off the Push Email Settings
The more frequently that you check for emails the more battery your iPhone 3G uses . By manually checking your emails you can save a lot of battery life. Go to Notifications and set Notifications to Off
9. Disable Location Service Constantly updating your iPhone’s position can use up considerable power. So when you’re not using Google Maps or the Iphone 3gs GPS feature turn the location service off. To do this go to Settings > General > Location Services
10. Update to the Latest Software Always make sure your iPhone 3G has the latest software from Apple, as they are always searching for new ways to optimize battery performance. At www.iTunes.com you can update your iPhone with the latest software
